Patchouli is very similar in appearance to peppermint leaves, so it is also called "Mint Patchouli." It has a typical smell of Indian herbs, and mainly used for repelling and preventing insects.
Later, when patchouli spread to Europe, it began to be used in the champagne and textile industries. Oriental patchouli scent was added to the Hermès Classic Square Scarf in the textile process, which was loved by British ladies and became one of the most fashionable and classic aromas in Europe in the 60s.
Patchouli oil has an readily recognisable rich, musky-sweet fragrance, which can have a grounding, balancing effect on the emotions. It also offers a number of benefits for the skin, helping it to recover quickly, reducing the appearance of wrinkles, scars and stretch marks, and promoting a smooth, glowing complexion. It is also helpful with head and neck tension.
