A member of the Pelargonium genus of flower species, geraniums (Pelargonium graveolens) are grown for their beauty, and as a staple of the perfume industry. While there are over 200 different varieties of Pelargonium flowers, only a few are used as essential oils. “Pelargonium roseum” and “Geranium Bourbon” are the most common products of essential oils.
The aroma of leaves are particularly strong although both leaves and flowers have aromatic components.
Geranium oil promotes clear, healthy skin, and helps calm nerves and lessen stress.
