Palmarosa is also called Cymbopogon Martini, it is different from roses.
Palmarosa is produced in the basin of the Degan Plateau (Dabti River) in the northeast of Mumbai in India. It is a raceme pair with a distinct boat-shaped buddha bud, and these inflorescences are compounded into a resurgent inflorescence. The spikelet has a sessile knee-shaped awn, or a stalked spikelet grown under the lowest part of the raceme; the first glume of the sessile spikelet has a strong and curved edge; the base plate is short and blunt. This massively growing weed is harvested to distill essential oils before flowering.
Palmaro essential oil comes from a grass that is dried after a week of being chopped then steam distilled with the highest yield. Its origin is from India and has been distilled by skilled craftsmen for centuries.
